Information you provide
We store account information, profile details and the startup information you submit, including chosen map locations, founder details, optional financial figures and uploaded media.
How we use it
We use this information to sign you in, manage your submissions, display the directory, review reports and operate the service. Sign-in email addresses and private acquisition budgets are not part of the public directory. Startup details and chosen map pins appear publicly when saved. Uploaded images are public to anyone with their direct file URL, including unpublished blog drafts and images belonging to listings removed from the directory.
Content review
We do not automatically check submitted text or images for unsafe content. Startup listings appear without prior administrator approval. Administrators can remove listings from public maps and the directory, review reports, or restrict accounts. Removing a listing does not make its existing direct image URLs private. Listing visibility is separate from verification of financial figures. Profile text may appear publicly when saved. We record unusual account activity to help protect the service.
Service providers
Supabase handles authentication, database records and uploaded files. Cloudflare provides site delivery and bot protection when configured. Google processes sign-in if you choose it. Maps use OpenStreetMap and OpenFreeMap. External links and embedded media are governed by their providers’ policies.
Storage and retention
Browser storage keeps your sign-in session and some interface preferences. A daily cleanup removes site activity events older than 30 days, request counters older than 2 days, and account activity counters older than 7 days. It removes resolved reports after 180 days and safety and moderation audit entries after one year. Backup retention is controlled separately by the database provider. When configured, PostHog records page views; automatic interaction capture and session recordings are disabled in the current implementation.
Your information
You can edit your profile and startup submissions, or delete your account and its uploaded files, from My account. Reports you submitted may remain after deletion without your account ID. For a privacy request or help with a restriction, use the Contact page. Avoid submitting information you do not want included in a startup listing.
